We’re a local, hands on, interactive, immersive introduction to Spanish in the historic Houston Heights community fostering early childhood development with movement, music, and play.
Founded in 2005, our Spanish enrichment program provides a fun, stimulating bilingual environment for children and the grownups that love them!
We offer…
weekly Bebé y Yo and Spanish and me classes designed for children age 4 months to 3+ years with a parent or caregiver
Spanish with Friends drop off classes for ages 3-5,
a growing Conmigo Comes to You program where we bring our engaging curriculum to area preschools
our popular Summer Spanish Immersion Camp for children ages 4-9.
Avec Moi French Program for children ages 15 months - 5 years with a parent or caregiver. (Avec Moi is currently not available).
Directed by our founder, Kim Martinez and taught by our well-loved teachers, Ms. Yosmary, Ms. Sheila, Ms. Pamela and Ms. Lily. Immersion CLasses?
YES! Immersion allows students to learn a second language in a similar manner to the way that they have learned their first. It’s natural for the young child to learn the target language through experiences like music and play. The earlier the better! Our classes are perfect for native, as well as non-native Spanish or French speakers. No experience necessary!
Phones and photos?
During class time, we request that you keep your phone in your bag and on silent. Our parent and me classes are designed for the grownup to actively participate with the child as we move, sing and play. Taking photos and videos during class is distracting for our teachers but more importantly, taking away valuable time with your child. This 45 minute class passes quickly and our hope is that you and your little one experience a special bonding time while with us. We do however, allow you to snap a photo or two (of your own child) at the end of class during the art time. Ms. Kim, our director occasionally will take photos and or short videos to share with parents and to use to promote the program. At registration, parents are given the option to allow photos to be posted or opt out.
Playroom?
A safe place for children to interact and socialize with peers, or have a snack before going home, the playroom is between our two classrooms and available to our Conmigo families to use before or after class. We ask that you watch your child during play and respect the toys and materials offered for your use. Please clean up before you leave. Enjoy!
Frequently Asked Questions
make up classes?
Definitely! We understand that children get sick, and emergencies come up. We offer up to two make up classes per session when requested in advance. More than two are not guaranteed. Just let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your child’s spot to another child that has requested a make up.
different caregivers?
Absolutely! We love seeing the little ones interacting with the grownups that love them! Mama, daddy, grandparents and caregivers are all welcome! When you enroll, we will ask you to list who will regularly attend with your child. We ask that you let us know in advance if we should expect someone new.
multiple children?
In the Spanish with Me and Saturday Spanish classes, siblings 12 months and younger are always free and welcome! The early exposure to the language is just right for them! If you are enrolling siblings over 12 months in the same class, we offer a 50% discount. In the Bebé y Yo infant class, we kindly ask that you do not bring any older siblings with you to class due to the nature of this special infant parent and me style of class.
